Usage, Baking Tips and Storage

Crunch and Topping Use: Finally. Demerara captures the large crystal texture and gentle golden caramel notes of classic demerara sugar. It is ideal as a direct 1:1 replacement for sprinkling over crumbles, muffins, and pies before baking to give a delightful crunchy top.

Heat Performance: Unlike real sugar crystals which melt and caramelise under high heat, erythritol crystals maintain their structure longer in the oven, preserving that desired golden crunch without burning easily.

Dissolving in Beverages: Perfect for sweetening hot coffee and tea. Stir thoroughly into hot liquids to ensure the coarse crystals fully dissolve. For cold drinks or cocktails, dissolve in a small splash of hot water first to create a simple syrup base.

Digestive Tolerance and Storage: Contains polyols from erythritol. While generally gentle on digestion, excessive intake may cause a mild laxative effect in sensitive individuals. Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to maintain its free-flowing, crunchy texture, and keep out of reach of domestic pets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I substitute Finally. Demerara in recipes calling for raw or demerara sugar?

The Granulated Sugar Alternative is a 1:1 replacement for regular sugar, combining monk fruit extract with erythritol so you can swap it cup-for-cup in everyday baking and cooking. The Pure Infusion Drops are a concentrated liquid sweetener that is 20 times sweeter than sugar, making them ideal for instant dissolving into hot drinks, iced cocktails, yoghurt, and porridge on the go.

How does Finally. Demerara recreate the look and taste of traditional demerara sugar?

We combine a granulated erythritol base with natural apple extract and natural flavouring. The apple extract gives the crystals their signature golden-amber hue, delivering that distinct, warm, butterscotch-like flavour note without using real sugar or artificial colouring.

Can I use Finally. Demerara as a crunchy topping for bakes and hot drinks?

Yes. Its coarse, golden crystals are perfect for sprinkling over low-carb crumble toppings, muffins, or morning porridge to add a light, sweet crunch. It also dissolves easily when stirred into hot coffee or tea. Note that while it provides great texture on baked goods, erythritol does not melt or caramelise like traditional sugar.
