Summer in a Jar: Why Finally. Norfolk Freeze Dried Strawberries Belong in Your Keto Kitchen
There is nothing quite like the taste of a British strawberry. But as the nights draw in, fresh berries become harder to find, and the imported punnets rarely taste of much at all. If you follow a low-carb or keto way of eating, finding a sweet treat that is real, simple and free from added sugar can feel harder still.
That is why we are so proud of our new Finally. Norfolk Freeze Dried Strawberries. They are grown in Norfolk, freeze-dried in Norfolk, and contain just one ingredient: 100% British strawberries. Nothing added, nothing taken away except the water.
What Are Freeze-Dried Strawberries?
Freeze drying gently removes the water from fresh fruit while it is frozen. The result is a light, crisp strawberry that keeps its bright colour, its natural flavour and a wonderfully satisfying crunch.
It also concentrates the fruit. Every 40g pouch of our freeze-dried strawberries starts life as around 300g of fresh Norfolk strawberries. That is why a small handful packs so much flavour, and why a little goes a long way.
Why You Will Love Them
1. Pure and Simple
One ingredient. No added sugar, no syrups, no preservatives. Our strawberries are gluten-free and vegan too, so they suit almost every kitchen.
2. Proudly Grown Locally
These are true British strawberries, grown and dried here in Norfolk, close to our own kitchen. Buying local supports British growers and keeps food miles down.
3. Summer Flavour, All Year Round
Sealed in their tub or pouch, they keep that sunny strawberry taste long after the season ends. Perfect for brightening up a grey winter breakfast.
4. Recyclable Packaging
Our packaging is 100% recyclable, so you can enjoy every crunch with a clear conscience.
Are Strawberries Keto Friendly?
It is one of the most common questions we are asked, and the answer is yes, in sensible portions. Like all fruit, strawberries contain natural carbohydrates. Because freeze-drying concentrates the fruit, those carbohydrates are concentrated too.
That is why portion size matters. A 10g serving provides around 3.7g net carbs, which fits comfortably into most low-carb days. Our 10g tub is a handy way to keep track, or simply weigh out a small handful from the pouch. If you are following a strict keto plan or managing diabetes, count your strawberries into your daily carbohydrate total, and check with your GP or a registered dietitian if you are unsure what is right for you.
A tip for your teeth: the NHS advises enjoying dried fruit as part of a meal, such as breakfast or dessert, rather than as a between-meal snack, as it can be high in natural sugars (NHS). Happily, that is exactly where our strawberries shine.
How to Enjoy Them
Upgrade Your Breakfast
Sprinkle over Greek yoghurt, stir into chia pots or crumble onto keto pancakes. Add a spoonful of Finally. FOS Prebiotic Fibre to your yoghurt for a little extra sweetness and fibre.
Make Strawberry Powder
Crush the strawberries into a fine strawberry powder using a pestle and mortar or a small blender. It adds natural pink colour and real fruit flavour to icing, cheesecakes, whipped cream and fat bombs, with no artificial colourings needed.
Festive Bakes and Desserts
Christmas is coming, and strawberries make a beautiful festive finish. Fold crushed strawberries into cream whipped with a little Finally. 100% Erythritol for an easy keto strawberry dessert, or scatter them over a low-carb cheesecake for a pop of red on the Christmas table. You can also bake them straight into muffins and mug cakes, where they soften into the batter.
Mix Your Berries
Pair them with our Finally. Freeze Dried Blueberries for a red and blue topping that looks as good as it tastes.
Rehydrate
Soak in a small splash of warm water for 3 to 5 minutes to soften them for sauces or fillings.
Storage tip: freeze-dried fruit loves to soak up moisture. Keep the pouch sealed, or tip them into an airtight jar once opened, to keep them crisp.
